Holly (Ilex aquifolium)
This wood attracts many superstitions. It has also been linked with eternity and can ward off evil spirits. But most people associate it with Christmas as the evergreen leaves hint at everlasting life and recovery. The wood is white, sometimes streaked with green, with a fine irregular grain. This wood comes with a very distinct flamed grain.
