Yew (Taxus baccata) Yew is considered the wood of everlasting life and continual rebirth with some trees being recorded as over 1000 years old. The orange-brown wood has an attractive grain and takes a high polish. Yew Burr is extremely hard to find and it is always a pleasure to turn this very fine figuring into a pen that will be treasured for years to come.
This Yew came from a tree taken down outside Crewkerne in Somerset, the tree was deemed as unsafe by the powers that be.
