This wood comes from the Moors of Cumbria. The Oak is estimated to be about 5000 years old and it's jet black appearance is due to it being pickled over the years before coming to the surface normally as a result of erosion or activity by man (Peat extraction, etc). The timber is all stabalised before being turned into this very unique pen
