Gorse (Ulex europaeus, U minor, U gallii)
This is known by many names ~ Furze, Gorst, Whin, Frey and Prickly Broom. Three species of gorse flourish in Britain, all with slightly different flowering times, giving the impression that gorse flowers almost all year round, hence the saying 'When gorse is out of bloom, kissing's out of season'.
